Trailer Released for “Over Your Dead Body” Starring Jason Segel and Samara Weaving
According to the CinemaDrame News Agency, the trailer for Over Your Dead Body has been unveiled. The film stars Jason Segel, known for the series Shrinking and How I Met Your Mother, alongside Samara Weaving, recognized for Ready or Not.
This action-comedy will premiere next month at the South by Southwest (SXSW) in Texas before opening in U.S. theaters on April 24, 2026.
Over Your Dead Body is a remake of the Norwegian film The Trip. Segel and Weaving play a married couple who retreat to a remote cabin in an attempt to repair their relationship — while secretly plotting to kill one another.
The film is directed by Jorma Taccone, whose previous credits include Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping and MacGruber. The screenplay was written by Nick Kocher and Brian McElhaney of Saturday Night Live.
The cast also features Timothy Olyphant (Alien: Earth), Paul Guilfoyle (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), Kate Jardine (Love Lies Bleeding), and Juliette Lewis (Yellowjackets). The film is produced by 87North Productions, founded by Kelly McCormick and David Leitch.
Over Your Dead Body has received an R rating for “strong bloody violence, grisly images, sexual assault, pervasive language, and sexual content.”
